Saddle Brook Boy Scout Renovating Field For Kids With Special Needs

A 16-year-old Saddle Brook boy scout is hoping to renovate a local field used for special needs athletics programs.

Michael Maniscalco, on the path to becoming an eagle scout, chose to renovate the playground at Avon Park -- home to the Saddle Brook Angels.

Maniscalco's parents Monica and James launched the Angels program for his sister, Samantha, and other youth with special needs or delays.

"We've been using the park for five years and we intend to keep on using it," the teen said.

"But it needs a lot of work."

Maniscalco will be holding several fundraisers so he can put mulch down on the playground, install a new slide and replace the swing set, he said.

Right now, he seeks money and manpower.
